Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.

Who is responsible

RAISEBOX Lda, Taguspark, Oeiras, Portugal, is the data controller for this website and for the team's own records. For anything in this policy, write to hello@raisebox.io.

What the forms collect

The forms on this site send us information, and both store it before emailing it to us, so nothing is lost if mail fails.

  • Apply: the applicant's name, email address, school and grade, the area they would like to join, why they want to join, and optionally what they have built. A parent or guardian's name and email may be given as well; those fields are optional.
  • Mentor: the applicant's name, email address, professional background, any FTC or FRC experience with its seasons and teams, and how they would like to help.
  • Contact: the sender's name, email address and message. A sponsorship enquiry also gives the company or organisation, the sender's role there, and optionally a sponsorship tier.

We use this to answer you and to run the team's selection. We ask for a school grade rather than a date of birth, and for nothing we do not need.

Who else receives it

Form submissions stay in the team's own systems and are emailed to info@teamthunderstrike.org, which is hosted by our mail provider.

On every public page, this site uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are opened, from which country and city, on what kind of device, and how visitors arrived. It sends those counts to Google. It is not used for advertising.

If, and only if, you accept marketing cookies, this site also loads advertising tags from Google and Meta. They tell those companies that a page was opened and that one of the forms was sent.

Neither Google Analytics nor the advertising tags ever carry your name, your email address, your age, your school, or anything you typed.

Cookies and similar storage

There are two kinds, and the banner at the bottom of this site asks about the second.

  • Necessary: keeping a signed-in member signed in, remembering the day or night setting in the members area, the work saved inside the members tools, the record of the answer you gave the banner, and counting visits with Google Analytics, described above. These are always on and are never used for advertising.
  • Marketing: the Google and Meta advertising tags, described above. Off unless you switch them on.

Nothing in the second group loads before you say yes. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, also linked in the footer of every page.

How long we keep it

  • Applications and messages: one season, September to August. After that all personal details are deleted, whether or not the applicant joined.
  • Members' records: attendance, posts and scouting are kept while the person is on the team. When someone leaves, their record is deleted: attendance survives only as anonymous totals, and posts they wrote stay published under their name as the team's own history.
  • Your cookie answer: stored in your own browser until you change it or clear your browser's data.
  • Visit records: our server notes each page request, including your internet address, to keep the site secure and count visits. Notes are deleted after about 14 days; only counts are kept, for 14 months.

Children

The students who join are aged 14 to 17. We advertise to adults, never to children. We ask for the least we can, and a parent or guardian can contact us at any time about their child's information.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to what we do with it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it. Write to hello@raisebox.io.

If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, Portugal's data protection authority, at cnpd.pt.
